Installing Hinge For Convertible-Top Compartment Lid

Using a spatula -1- , remove the seal -2- on the body and hinge -3- and clean with cleaning solution.

Information

The seal must not be affixed over the contact surface of the hinge -A- and body.
Position new seal -1- on the hinge -2- and stick it on.

Pull off backing protective film on the seal -4- and position the hinge -3- on the body.

Tighten fastening nuts -1- and fastening screw -2- .
Position the transverse strut -2- on the hinge -3- and secure it without tension with the fastening nuts -1- . → Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ft. lb.)

Fasten drive for convertible-top compartment lid on the right and left. → 617219 REMOVING AND INSTALLING TRANSMISSION FOR CONVERTIBLE-TOP COMPARTMENT LID DRIVE - section on "Installing"
Position convertible-top compartment lid -1- on the hinges -3- at the left and right with the help of a second person and secure with the fastening nuts -2- .
