Adjusting Hinge For Convertible-Top Compartment Lid

Information 

• The side adjusting elements on the side panel must be set in such a way that there is slight preload on the adjusting elements when the convertible-top compartment lid is fully closed. 
• The preload must be equal on the left and right. 

Any excess force can be corrected by screwing the adjusting elements in and out.

1. 2.1. Check the contours with respect to the side panels, rear cover and rear lid. → 5000IN DIAGRAM - BODY GAP DIMENSIONS

2. 2.2. Lift up the convertible-top compartment lid and pull it fully to the rear.
3. 2.3. Loosen the fastening nuts and fastening screws on the hinge and on the convertible-top compartment lid if necessary.
4. 2.4. Adjust the contours by moving the convertible-top compartment lid and hinges.
5. 2.5. Screw on fastening nuts on the convertible-top compartment lid. → Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ft. lb.) 
6. 2.6. Tighten fastening nut and fastening screw on the hinge. → Tightening torque: 23 Nm (17 ft. lb.) → Tightening torque: 23 Nm (17 ft. lb.) 
7. 2.7. Close the convertible top and check the contours.
