Disassembling Hood Compartment Lid

Information

The foam pad/foam part will be damaged irreparably during removal and cannot be re-used.

Remove foam pad.

1. 1.1. Loosen foam pad -1- in bonding area -A- and pull off from hood compartment lid -2- (-arrows- ).
2. 1.2. Remove adhesive residue and clean with cleaning solution.

Remove edge protection.

1. 2.1. Mark position of retaining clips -1- and remove -arrow A- .
2. 2.2. Pull off edge protection -2- from hood compartment lid -3- (-arrow B- ).
Remove rubber buffer at the left and right.

1. 3.1. Unscrew rubber buffer -1- out of hood compartment lid -2- (-arrow- ).
Remove upper part of lid lock.

1. 4.1. Unscrew fastening screws -1- .
2. 4.2. Remove upper part of lid lock -2- from hood compartment lid -3- .
Remove bracket at the left and right.

1. 5.1. Press in retaining pins and unclip expanding clips -1- .
2. 5.2. Remove bracket -2- from hood compartment lid -3- (-arrow- ).
Information

The sealing strip and seal cannot be reused.
Remove seal and sealing strip.

1. 6.1. Pull off sealing strip -1- together with seal -2- from hood compartment lid -3- (-arrow- ).
2. 6.2. Pull off adhesive tape -1- from hood compartment lid -2 - at the left and right -arrow- .

3. 6.3. Remove adhesive residue and clean with cleaning solution.
