Installing Pneumatic Spring

Information 

The untensioned position or maximum possible extension length of the pneumatic spring is reached when the hinge lever is facing upwards.

1. Secure pneumatic spring on the convertible-top compartment lid.

   1. 1.1. A second person should hold the rear lid to prevent it from closing accidentally.
   2. 1.2. Position the pneumatic spring -1-  on the ball joint and press it in -arrow-  . The pneumatic spring clicks into place.
   3. 1.3. Check that the safety clips have engaged correctly. The safety clip must be directly on the head of the pneumatic spring.
2. Secure pneumatic spring on the hinge.

   1. 2.1. Guide the pneumatic spring into the slot provided for this purpose on the rear hinge lever using a slotted screwdriver of average width as a tensioning aid, lift it up -arrow A-  and press the pneumatic spring -1-  in -arrow B-  .
   2. 2.2. Check that the safety clips have engaged correctly. The safety clip must be directly on the head of the pneumatic spring.
