Installing GT3 RS Logo (Film) Using Wet Adhesion Procedure

NOTE: Decorative films not prepared/fitted correctly
  • Damage to decorative films
  • Inadequate film adhesion

→ Freshly painted surfaces must be dried fully to ensure that they are completely free of solvents.

→ Carefully clean the areas on which you intend to stick the film to ensure that all traces of oil, grease and silicone are completely removed.

→ Do not touch the bonding surfaces.

→ Only touch adhesive side of logo in the middle and not at the corners or along the edges (if contact is unavoidable).

→ Object (decorative film, vehicle, etc.) and ambient temperature → Minimum temperature: 15°C  .

→ Optimal adhesion of the logo to the vehicle is guaranteed after approx. 48 hours. Do not put any pressure on the logo (e.g. using a car wash) during this period.

Information

Tests have shown that the logos are best applied "wet".

  1. Position film on a flat surface with the protective-paper side up, pull protective paper straight off at an angle of 180° and generously coat adhesive side of film with the water emulsion.
  2. Fully coat the surfaces on which you intend to affix the logo (components: front apron, rear apron and door) with the water emulsion.
  3. Slide the film into position on the cushion of water.
  4. Press the film on in overlapping strokes using a plastic spatula (see Fig 1) so that there is no water left between the component and the film.
  5. Dry off the entire surface using absorbent cloths.
  6. Press on the film again using strong, overlapping strokes. (The plastic spatula must bend slightly while doing this.)
  7. Check the affixed film for bubbles and creases. Burst any bubbles you find with a needle at the edges and press the air or water out using a plastic spatula.
