Removing Hardtop Fastenings

NOTE: Operation of the hood in service position
  • Risk of damage to hood frame and rear window

→ Do not move the hood to the "Close" position by electrical means when in service position.

  1. Open convertible top completely.
  2. Remove side trim panel.
  3. Move convertible top to service position.
    1. 3.1. → Move Convertible Top To Service Position 6101IN IN -CONVERTIBLE TOP SERVICE POSITION 
  4. Detach cloth.
    1. 4.1. Disengage strip on left and right of cloth covering -4-  in downward direction.

  5. Disengage tension rope.
    1. 5.1. Press ball socket -5-  of tension rope off the ball joint of the adjusting piece.

  6. Disengage push rod.
    1. 6.1. Press ball socket -6-  of push rod off the ball joint of the main folding top bow.

  7. Swivel convertible top to the front.
    1. 7.1. Swivel the convertible top so that the screws -7A -  and -7B-  of the bracket become accessible.
  8. Unscrew fastening screws.
    1. 8.1. Lift tension bow and unscrew fastening screw -7A -  over the convertible top compartment; fastening screw -7B-  is normally accessible.

  9. Open convertible top completely.
    1. 9.1. When operating the convertible top, make sure that the unclipped push rod does not jam in the convertible top mechanism.
  10. Remove bracket.
