Installing Front Apron

Fit front apron with the help of an assistant by sliding it backwards into the side guide rails in -direction of arrow- .

Screw in fastening screws at the top and fit plug.
1. 2.1. Screw in and tighten fastening screws -1- at the top. → Tightening torque: 3.5 Nm (2.5 ftlb.)+/-0.5 Nm (+/-0.5 ftlb.)
2. 2.2. Insert plug -2- and push in completely.

Screw in and tighten fastening screws -1- at the bottom. → Tightening torque: 4.5 Nm (3.0 ftlb.)+/-0.5 Nm (+/-0.5 ftlb.)

Screw in fastening screws at the sides.
1. 4.1. Lift off wheel housing liner in the lower area.
2. 4.2. Screw in and tighten fastening screws -1 and 2- at the sides. → Tightening torque: 2.5 Nm (2.0 ftlb.)+/-0.5 Nm (+/- 0.5 ftlb.) → Tightening torque: 2.5 Nm (2.0 ftlb.)+/-0.5 Nm (+/-0.5 ftlb.)

Connect plug connections -1 and 2- on the right side together -arrows- until the connectors click into place.

Connect water hose for the headlight washer system on the right side.
Information

Only for vehicles with headlight washer system.
1. 6.1. Insert water hose for headlight washer system -2- into the coupling -1- (-arrow- ) until the coupling clicks into place.

Connect bulb socket -1- to the direction indicator light -2- (-arrow- ).

Install main headlight. → Installing main headlights
Adjust gap dimensions
1. 9.1. Close the lid
2. 9.2. Check gap dimensions at the lid and headlight. 5000IN DIAGRAM - BODY GAP DIMENSIONS
3. 9.3. Unscrew fastening screws -1- at the top if necessary and adjust gap dimensions by moving the front apron. Tighten fastening screws at the top. → Tightening torque: 3.5 Nm (2.5 ftlb.)+/-0.5 Nm (+/-0.5 ftlb.)
