Installing Front Side Section

NOTE: Non-observance of setting time for adhesive
  • Risk of damage to side panel

→ Weld in the new part within 30 minutes.

  1. Apply body sealing adhesive to the A-pillar reinforcement.
    1. 1.1. Close to the door hinge flange, in areas -A and B- Teromix-6700 two-component adhesive  must be applied sparingly.

  2. Apply body sealing adhesive to the B-pillar reinforcement.
    1. 2.1. Close to the door hinge flange, in area -A- Teromix-6700 two-component adhesive  must be applied sparingly.

  3. Apply body sealing adhesive to the wheel arch flange.
    1. 3.1. On the wheel arch flange in area -A- Teromix-6700 two-component adhesive Application depth: 6 mm  must be applied. Observe the application depth -X9-  .

  4. Install front side section.
    1. 4.1. Position the front side section on the body. Adjust the contours and gap dimensions according to the previous fitting process. Secure the front side section with tensioning clamps.

  5. Weld in front side section at the A-pillar.
    1. 5.1. Weld the front side section in area -A-  using inert gas.

    2. 5.2. Plug-weld the front side section in area -B-  using inert gas.
    3. 5.3. Resistance spot-weld the front side section in area -C-  .

  6. Weld in front side section at front side member.
    1. 6.1. Plug-weld the front side section in area -A-  using inert gas.

    2. 6.2. Resistance spot-weld the front side section in areas -A and B-  .

  7. Weld in front side section at the B-pillar.
    1. 7.1. Weld the front side section in area -A-  using inert gas.

    2. 7.2. Resistance spot-weld the front side section in areas -B, C and D-  .

  8. Weld in front side section at the C-pillar.
    1. 8.1. Weld the front side section in area -A-  using inert gas.

    2. 8.2. Resistance spot-weld the front side section in areas -B and C-  .
    3. 8.3. Resistance spot-weld the front side section in area -A-  .

  9. Grind down the MIG seams.
