Removing Drive Shaft

Information 

The instructions for removing and installing drive shafts apply both to the Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) and manual transmission.

  1. Release axle nut (vehicle on ground) while operating the brake (2 fitters required).
  2. Remove rear wheel.

    → REMOVING WHEEL

  3. Remove drive shafts.
    1. 3.1. Counter using special tool adapter plate 9510/1  (-1-  ).

    2. 3.2. Unscrew the six bolts between the drive shaft and transmission flange.

      Information 

      • Protect the drive shafts from mechanical damage. 
    3. 3.3. Use universal drive shaft/wheel hub extractor as of model '86 NR.87-1  to carefully press out the pin of the drive shaft until the shaft can be moved by hand.

    4. 3.4. Remove (pull out) drive shaft.
