Installing Shift And Selector Cables: Notes

Information 

• Handle shift and selector cables with care. Do not bend or kink the cables as this can damage them over time. 

Information 

• The assembly and transport sleeves that are fitted on the adjustment pins of the shift cable must not be removed until just before you engage the adjustment pins in the gearshift bracket. 

1. Push the shift and selector cables through the bulkhead panel from the interior of the vehicle and fit fastening nuts.

   Shift and selector cables to bulkhead	Fastening nuts between shift and selector cables and bulkhead	Tightening torque	10 Nm (7.5 ftlb.)

2. Engage shift and selector cables in support.

3. Fit support for shift and selector cables.

4. Push end of shift and selector cable - at transmission side - into the opening in the engine compartment lid.

5. Clip in shift cable at the distributor pipe.
