Installing Retaining Bracket For Support Tube

Information 

Determine the position of the new part and secure with tensioning clamps.

When butt welding body sheet panels with a sheet thickness of > 1.5 mm, there must be a welding slit width s = 1 x sheet thickness to guarantee the required welding quality (welding through).

1. Fitting retaining bracket for support tube to the body
   1. 1.1. Fit the retaining bracket to the body and fix in place with tensioning clamps.
2. Welding in retaining bracket for support tube
   1. 2.1. Resistance spot-weld retaining bracket for support tube in area -A-  .

3. Welding in retaining bracket for support tube
   1. 3.1. Apply a full weld to the retaining bracket for the support tube in areas -A-  and -C-  using inert gas.
   2. 3.2. Resistance spot-weld retaining bracket for support tube in area -B-  .

4. Install rear luggage compartment floor panel. → Installing Rear Trunk Floor Panel (Section) 
5. Install inner rear wheel housing. → Installing Inner Rear Wheel Housing
