Installing Roof Joint Cover Strip

1. 1.1. If threads are damaged:

   remove roof lining. → Removing roof lining

2. 1.2. Replace nuts -4-  .

only if the roof joint cover strip is to be reused 

1. 2.1. Check seals of the supports -3-  for damage and cracks, replace where necessary. To do this, unclip the supports -3-  from the roof joint cover strip -1-  .

• Vehicles with panoramic roof 

1. 3.1. Hook the roof edging strip -1a-  onto the holding clip -5-  and position it.

2. 3.2. Screw in fastening screws -2-  in the sequence -2A bis 2F-  as shown and tighten to the specified tightening torque.

   → Tightening torque: 9 Nm (6.5)+/-0.5 Nm (+/-0.5 ftlb.)

• Vehicles with/without sliding roof 

1. 4.1. Positioning roof edging strip -1b-  .
2. 4.2. Screw in fastening nuts -2-  in the sequence -A to E-  as shown and tighten to the specified torque.

   → Tightening torque: 6.5 ftlb.+/-0.25 ftlb.
