Preliminary Work

CAUTION: Incorrect positioning of transmission jack on oil pan or support surface too small!
  • Oil pan or oil guide housing can break.

→ Use wide, rubber-coated support surface on the transmission jack.

→ Choose a solid area on the underside of the engine or on the transmission.

  1. Prop up the engine from underneath with a transmission jack (with a wide, rubber-coated support surface) or support the engine on the body. → 1001IN SUPPORTING V6 3.6-LITRE DFI ENGINE ON THE BODY 
  2. Remove engine guard. → 108019 REMOVING AND INSTALLING ENGINE GUARD (UNDERBODY PANEL) ON DFI ENGINES 
  3. Remove front axle far enough for the engine carrier to be removed. → Removing Front-Axle Carrier
