Removing Coolant Temperature Sensor

WARNING: Toxic substances
  • Danger of poisoning or suffocation

→ Ventilate the work area well.

→ Never ingest or inhale.

→ Read specific information on the Hazard Sheet.

→ Wear personal protective gear.

→ Do not smoke, eat or drink in the work area.

WARNING: Hot fluid
  • Danger of scalding

→ Let the fluid cool down.

→ Wear personal protective gear.

The coolant temperature sensor is installed in the coolant guide behind the engine wire harness. -2-

  1. Coolant pipe with sealing ring

  1. 9 - Coolant guide (collection pipe)
  1. Pull off the cable plug for the temperature sensor -37-  between the bulkhead and the engine wire harness duct. To do this, carefully pull the cable duct forward and release and pull off the cable plug with a hook assembly tool T10118  .

    1. 37 - Coolant temperature sensor
    2. A - Direction of travel
  2. Unscrew the coolant temperature sensor using a suitable socket. Close off the threaded bore so that only a small amount of coolant leaks out.
