Removing (Main) Catalytic Converter

CAUTION: Heavy components
  • Risk of squashing

→ Wear personal protective gear.

→ Get someone to help if necessary.

CAUTION: Hot components
  • Risk of burns

→ Let hot components cool down.

→ Wear personal protective gear.

Information 

  1. Loosen the transmission support on the body and remove it.
    1. 1.1. Support transmission. .

    2. 1.2. Unscrew screws in holder on the body and on the transmission support, remove transmission support. .

  2. Remove main catalytic converter.
  1. 2.1. Loosen connecting clamps between the main catalytic converters and the exhaust system.

    Then push the clamps back onto the exhaust system. The exhaust clamps must not be reused.

  2. 2.2. Loosen main catalytic converter at the primary catalytic converter -4-  and remove it.
