Removing The Starter
WARNING:
Working on the vehicle electrical system
- Risk of burns
- Risk of short circuit or fire.
→ Disconnect the battery.
→ Prevent battery from reconnecting.
→ Cover the battery.
→ Remove ground terminal and cover the terminals.
→ Route electric lines without tensile strength.
→ Secure electric lines to existing lines/components.
- Open the press-studs -Arrow- and remove the heat insulation cover on the solenoid switch.
- Pull off protection cap -Arrow A- .
- Screw off the fastening nut -1- and take the line off the threaded pin -Arrow B- .
- Pull off protection cap -3- (-Arrow C- ).
- Screw off the fastening nut -2- and take the line off the threaded pin -Arrow C- .
- Undo fastening screw -Arrow 3- and pull holder away in a downward direction -Arrow A- .
- Unscrew the fastening screw -Arrow 4- .
- Screw off the fastening nuts -Arrows 5- and take out the holder -Arrow B- . To do this, turn the holder slightly if necessary.
- Unscrew fastening screw -Arrow 6- on the transmission side of the starter.
- Unscrew the fastening screw -Arrow 7- .
- Unscrew lower fastening screw -Arrow 8- of the starter.
- Pull the line carefully downwards -Arrow A- and remove the starter -Arrow B- . Turn the starter if necessary.
