Removing Lock Carrier
Information
- All straightening work on the body in the connection area of the sheetmetal parts to be replaced must be completed before the damaged parts are removed .
- Lock carrier
- D-pillar gusset plate, right
- D-pillar gusset plate, left
- Remove end plate. → 530555 REPLACING END PLATE
- Cut off D-pillar gusset plates.
- 2.1. Mill off welded joints on the D-pillar gusset plates using the spotweld cutter (areas -A-
).

- 2.2. Grind off MIG seams on the D-pillar gusset plates using a parting grinder (areas -B- ).
- 2.1. Mill off welded joints on the D-pillar gusset plates using the spotweld cutter (areas -A-
).
- Remove D-pillar gusset plates.
- Cut off outer lock carrier.
- 4.1. Mill off welded joints on the lock carrier using the spotweld cutter (areas -C- ).
- 4.2. Grind off MIG seams on the lock carrier using a parting grinder (area -D- ).
- 4.3. Mill off welded joints on the lock carrier using the spotweld cutter (area -E- ).
- 4.4. Mill off welded joints on the lock carrier using the spotweld cutter (areas -F- ).
- 4.5. Grind off MIG seams on the lock carrier using a parting grinder (area -G- ).
- Cut off inner lock carrier.
- 5.1. Grind off MIG seams on the lock carrier using a parting grinder (area -H- ).
- 5.2. Mill off welded joints on the lock carrier using the spotweld cutter (area -I- ).
- 5.3. Grind off MIG seams on the lock carrier using a parting grinder (area -J- ).
- 5.4. Mill off welded joints on the lock carrier using the spotweld cutter (area -K- ).
- Remove lock carrier.
