Installing Side Step (Skidpad)
Information
- Additionally note the information on retrofitting in the → "Technical Information: Take note of 09/03, running board 6626".
- Install side-step brackets.
- 1.1. Check blind rivet nuts for mounting the step brackets to ensure that they are fitted correctly and are not damaged; replace the nuts if necessary.
- 1.2. Position front bracket -2- on the body and secure with the fastening screws -1- . → Tightening torque: 26 Nm (19 ftlb.)+/-2.6 Nm (+/-2.0 ftlb.)
- 1.3. Position centre bracket -2- on the body and secure with the fastening screws -1- . → Tightening torque: 26 Nm (19 ftlb.)+/-2.6 Nm (+/-2.0 ftlb.)
- 1.4. Position rear bracket -2- on the body and secure with the fastening screws -1- . → Tightening torque: 26 Nm (19 ftlb.)+/-2.6 Nm (+/-2.0 ftlb.)
- Install side step.
- 2.1. Position side step -2- on the side-step brackets -arrow- with the help of an assistant and secure with the fastening screws -1- . → Tightening torque: 26 Nm (19 ftlb.)+/-2.6 Nm (+/-2.0 ftlb.)
- 2.2. Lift off rear wheel housing liner -1- in the lower area -arrow A- and tighten the fastening screw -2- (-arrow B- ). → Tightening torque: 1.5 Nm (1.0 ftlb.)+/- 0.5 Nm (+/-0.5 ftlb.)
- 2.3. Screw in fastening screws -1- on rear wheel housing liner -2- in the lower area -arrow- . → Tightening torque: 2.5 Nm (2.0 ftlb.)+/-0.5 Nm (+/-0.5 ftlb.)
