Fitting Front Side Section

  1. Prepare repair part.
    1. 1.1. Cut through the front side section at the A-pillar in area -A-  using the oscillating body saw. Maintain the dimension -X3- Cut dimension, new part: 200 mm  .

      Information 

      • The upper edge of the rectangular opening on the A-pillar is used as the lower reference line for taking measurements. 
    2. 1.2. Ensure that the repair part in the area of the cut overlaps by -X4- Overlap: 30 mm  over the remaining section of the vehicle.

      Information 

      • The upper edge of the upper door hinge mounting on the B-pillar is used as the lower reference line for taking measurements. 
    3. 1.3. Cut through the front side section at the B-pillar in area -A-  using the oscillating body saw. Maintain the dimension -X5- Cut dimension, new part: 130 mm  .

    4. 1.4. Ensure that the repair part in the area of the cut overlaps by -X6- Overlap: 50 mm  over the remaining section of the vehicle.

    5. 1.5. The overlap -X7- Overlap: 50 mm  on the wheel arch is automatically defined when the cut is made.

    6. 1.6. Remove upper end piece of front side section.

  2. Fit front side section to the body.
    1. 2.1. Fit the front side section to the body and fix in place with tensioning clamps. To complete the fit, install the front and rear doors and adjust the contours and gap dimensions between the doors and lower side member according to the adjustment values.

  3. Fit front side section to the A-pillar connection point.
    1. 3.1. Use the oscillating body saw to cut through the two sheetmetal panels close to the overlap between the front side section and A-pillar (area -A-  ). Do not damage internal components.

  4. Fit front side section to the B-pillar connection point.
    1. 4.1. Use the oscillating body saw to cut through the two sheetmetal panels close to the overlap between the front side section and B-pillar (area -A-  ). Do not damage internal components.

  5. Fit front side section to the C-pillar connection point.
    1. 5.1. Use the oscillating body saw to cut through the two sheetmetal panels close to the overlap between the front side section and B-pillar (area -A-  ). Do not damage internal components.

  6. Remove front side section.
    1. 6.1. Remove front side section and remaining pieces from the pillars.
