Installing Rear Door Handle

Open door.
Check that the handle receiver is locked in installation position
NOTE:
Lock actuation mechanism not fitted correctly
- Door cannot be opened using the outer door handle after being locked and unlocked for the first time.
- Function of inner door release impaired
→ Clip the lock actuation mechanism tightly, but not tensioned into the guide on the outer door handle.

→ Leave the door open after installing the key cylinder and lock cylinder housing.

→ Check the function of the outer door handle with the door open.
1. 2.1. Check that the mounting point -9- was locked correctly in installation position during removal. If the mounting is not locked, it can also be fixed in place subsequently → Locking door handle mounting.

Lock the lock actuation in installation position
1. 3.1. Attach securing spring -10- to the lock actuation lever using the assembly tool T10118. → Latching the lock actuation.

Install Porsche Entry and Drive wiring harness. For vehicles with Porsche Entry and Drive only
1. 4.1. Install Porsche Entry and Drive wiring harness → REMOVING AND INSTALLING WIRING HARNESS FOR PORSCHE ENTRY AND DRIVE SYSTEM .
2. 4.2. Install door unit carrier. .
Insert door handle.
1. 5.1. Insert rubber washers -7- .
2. 5.2. Insert door handle -6- -arrow A- and swivel it inwards by 90° -arrow B- .

Attaching door handle
1. 6.1. Press door handle -6- inwards -arrow C- and hook it in behind the mounting -9- -arrow D- .
2. 6.2. Press door handle -6- forward -arrow E- until it locks with an audible click.

Attach lock actuation
1. 7.1. Press the lock actuator -5- into the guide on the door handle -arrow F- .

Install housing.
1. 8.1. Install housing -3- -arrow G- . If necessary, slacken fastening screw -2- until the housing can be inserted completely.
2. 8.2. Screw in fastening screw -2- at the side -arrow H- and tighten to the specified tightening torque. → Tightening torque: 4.5 Nm+/-0.5 Nm

Check function of door handle. .
Install cover cap
1. 10.1. Clip in the cover cap -1- at the side on the basic door frame -arrow I- .

Close the door.
