Adjusting Wiper Arm Attack Angle

Information
Wiper system must be in the parking position. Before starting work, allow the wiper system to run 2 - 3 times with water spray.
WARNING:
Electrically moved components
- Danger of limbs being trapped or severed
→ Switch off electric power to drive motor.
→ Make sure it does not switch on again.
→ Check that there is no electric charge.
- Push adapter -B- for the Cayenne onto the wiper blade mounting.
- Fit the angle measuring device -A- on the adapter and secure with the knurled screw.
- Read off wiper arm angle of attack using the angle measuring device and compare with the nominal values.
Wiper position Nominal angle Tolerance Parking position on driver's side + 5.5° +/- 2° End position on driver's side - 4° +/- 2° Parking position on passenger's side + 5° +/- 2° End position on passenger's side - 4° +/- 2° - If the nominal values are not achieved, the wiper arm must be adjusted using the two adjusting tools.
- Clamp the two mountings for the angle adjusting tools over the wiper arm and screw the adjusting tools into the mountings.
- Adjust the angle to the nominal value by turning the front adjusting tool.
- To check the "wiper arm attack angle" the adjusting tools must be removed.
- When the readings equal the nominal values remove the special tool and fit the wiper blade.
- Switch on ignition, switch on wiper and as soon as the wiper is in the end position switch off ignition.
- Remove wiper blade and fit adapter with the angle measuring device.
- Read off end position values and compare with nominal values. If the nominal values are not achieved, remove adapter together with angle measuring device, fit wiper blade and, with the wiper arm in the parking position, measure attack angle and then readjust. >>> repeat work and test procedure from the beginning.
