Removing side member
Installation Location:
A - Inner side member
B - Outer side member

→ The possible cuts on the inner side member are located 30 mm in front of the tailored blank (laser weld), starting from the rear of the vehicle.
1. Determine cut.
1.1. Mark cut on outer and inner side members.
1.2. The possible cuts on the inner side member are located Y = 30 mm in front of the tailored blank (laser weld) X , starting from the rear of the vehicle.
1.3. The possible cuts on the outer side members are located V = 50 mm offset from the inner cut.
2. Mill off spotwelds on the luggage compartment floor and outer side member.
2.1. Using a spotweld cutter, mill off the spotwelds between the luggage compartment floor and the inner side member in area A . Make sure that area A projects beyond point X on the cut.
3. Cutting off inner side member
3.1. Using the body saw, cut off the inner side member in front of the tailored blank (laser weld) in area H ; dimension Y = 30 mm .
4. Mill off wheel housing
4.1. Mill off wheel housing in area E using a spotweld cutter. Use an angle drill.
5. Cut off outer side member
5.1. Cut off the outer side member and inner side member in area V = 50 mm offset from the cut on the inside using the body saw.
