Installing brake shoes: Installing
1. Install parking-brake shoes -1- , return springs -4, 5- , adjustment device -2- and compression springs -6- and check that they are seated correctly. See Fig 1.
The ends of the springs must be pointing upwards on wheel carriers with index 04 or 05 (last 2 digits of the part number).
In the case of modified wheel carriers with index 06 or higher (used in production from 21 October 2005 onwards), the ends of the springs must point towards the center of the wheel (left spring pointing right/right spring pointing left).
The wheel carriers are differentiated based on the part number, which can be seen close to the (raised) steering arm.
2. Clean the levelling and centering surfaces on the brake disc and wheel hub.
Then apply a very thin coat of Optimoly TA to the centering surface on the wheel hub.
3. Install brake discs. See Figure.
Rear PCCB brake discs are not identical. Observe marking for "right" and "left" side during assembly!
4. Engage the brake cable at the parking-brake lever.
5. Adjust the parking-brake shoes → 468316 Adjusting parking-brake shoes .
