Installing Drive Shaft: Notes

Information
- Screws are Dacromet-coated and must not be greased.
- Grease the toothing of the drive shaft lightly with Optimoly HT.
- To prevent damage to the drive shaft, slide a protective tube (shop-made) over the drive shaft.
- Use new screws and lock nuts.
- Observe correct tightening torques → Tightening Torques For Rear Axle
- Always check the bellows for damage and replace them if necessary if you intend to continue using the drive shaft.
- Install drive shaft.
- 1.1. Guide in drive shaft and screw in and tighten the six bolts between the drive shaft and transmission flange.
6-speed manual transmission
→ Tightening torque: 81 Nm (60 ftlb.)
Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK)
→ Tightening torque: 81 Nm (60 ftlb.)
Counter using special tool adapter plate 9510/1 (-1- ).
- 1.2. Remove protection for drive shaft.
- 1.1. Guide in drive shaft and screw in and tighten the six bolts between the drive shaft and transmission flange.
