Installing Rear-Axle Cross Member

Information
- After installing the rear-axle cross member, suspension alignment must be performed because the wheel alignment values of the rear axle might no longer be within the permitted tolerance range after removing and installing the rear-axle cross member.
- Install rear-axle cross member.
- 1.1. Fit rear-axle cross member -2-
and screw in and tighten screws -1-
(M10 x 45) on the rear-axle cross member -2-
.
Be careful with the bracket for the headlight levelling system.
→ Tightening torque: 65 Nm (48 ftlb.)
- 1.2. Clip in electric plug connections on the rear-axle cross member.
Clip electric plug connections -1- for the oxygen sensors on the rear-axle cross member at the left and right into the brackets.
- 1.1. Fit rear-axle cross member -2-
and screw in and tighten screws -1-
(M10 x 45) on the rear-axle cross member -2-
.
- Install heat protection cover at the right.
Fit heat protection cover -2- and screw on and tighten nuts -1- .
- Fit restraining cables on rear-axle cross member.
Fit restraining cables into the rear-axle cross member -arrows- and screw on and tighten nuts -1- .
→ Tightening torque: 23 Nm (17 ftlb.)
