Removing Roof Reinforcement

Installation Location: 

1. Remove hinge pillar reinforcement. → 516255 Replacing hinge pillar reinforcement - section on "Removing" 

2. Remove side section reinforcement. Refer to 53 06 55 Replacing side section reinforcement - as of MY 2006 (Cayman S, Cayman S RHD) .

3. Separating inert-gas welded seams

3.1. Separate welded seams applied using inert gas in areas -A, B, C, D, E-  using a parting grinder. See Fig 2.

4. Separating spotwelds

4.1. Separate spotwelds in area -A-  from the inside using a parting grinder. See Fig 3.

5. Milling off spotwelds

5.1. Mill off spotwelds in area -A-  from the outside using a spotweld cutter. See Fig 4.

6. Milling off spotwelds

6.1. Mill off spotwelds in areas -A-  and -B-  from the inside using a spotweld cutter. See Fig 5.
