Removing hydraulic pump (Cayenne V6)

NOTE:
  • The engine does not have to be removed in order to remove and install the hydraulic pump. 
  • The hydraulic pump in the V6 engine is accessible from beneath. 

1. Loosen pulley of hydraulic pump, but do not remove it.

2. Slacken drive belt and remove from the pulley. Refer to 13 78 19 Removing and installing drive belt - as of MY 2004 (Cayenne TIP, Cayenne MAN) .

3. Lift the vehicle. Refer to 40 V0 Lifting the vehicle - as of MY 2003 (Cayenne Turbo S, Cayenne S TIO Titan) . Refer to 40 V0 Lifting the vehicle - as of MY 2003 (Cayenne TIP, Cayenne MAN, Cayenne S TIP, Cayenne S MAN, Cayenne Turbo) .

4. Remove engine guard. Refer to 10 80 19 Removing and installing engine guard - as of MY 2003 (All Models) .

5. Remove pulley.

6. Clamp both lines to the hydraulic pump (suction line, pressure pipe) with a hose clamp 3094  as close as possible to the hydraulic pump as possible.

7. Remove both lines to the hydraulic pump (suction line, pressure pipe). Close the open connections with suitable plugs. Collect emerging hydraulic fluid in a suitable container.

8. Remove hydraulic pump.
