Removing front stabilizer

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 10 other vehicles, including the 2012 Porsche Cayman, 2012 Porsche Boxster, 2011 Porsche Cayman, 2011 Porsche Boxster, and 2010 Porsche Cayman. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Loosen the two connecting links (suspension/stabilizers) at the anti-roll bar.
  2. To remove and install the anti-roll bar, lower the front-axle cross member slightly at the front (approx. 50 to 60 mm/similar procedure as for removing and installing steering gear).

For further information, see → 400919 REMOVING AND INSTALLING FRONT-AXLE CROSS MEMBER  or → 489019 REMOVING AND INSTALLING POWER-STEERING GEAR .

Support the front-axle cross member with a hydraulic lift while lowering it (use a hard rubber base or wooden block: -see  illustration-).
