Suspension Spring ( Coil / Leaf ): Description and Operation

The following component modifications have been made:







4272 - Suspension Strut (E)

The suspension strut consists of a coil spring with internal twin tube gas filled shock absorber. The springs have been adapted to the driving dynamics and are provided with color coding indicating the chassis version / spring tolerance.

Boxster (987)
- Basic chassis Spring rate 30 N/mm
- PASM chassis Spring rate 40 N/mm

Boxster S (987)
- Basic chassis Spring rate 33 N/mm
- PASM chassis Spring rate 40 N/mm

The twin tube gas filled shock absorber has a larger outer tube than on the predecessor model. In conjunction with a longer guide length for the shock absorber, this results in an improved camber rate and enhanced response.
