Removing And Installing Engine For Rear Spoiler

Preliminary work

Remove spoiler drive. Refer to Removing and installing spoiler drive

Removing engine for rear spoiler







1. Unscrew the three fastening screws -1- on the engine for the spoiler drive -2-.







INFORMATION: If the engine is replaced, the lines from the engine to the microswitch must be pinched off and crimped on with the lines from the new engine.

2. Cut off the lines between the engine and the microswitch to a suitable length.
3. Pull out axle -A- and remove spur gear -B-.







Installing engine for rear spoiler

1. Insert spur gear -B- and push in axle -A-.







2. Position motor for spoiler drive -2- and screw down using the three fastening screws -1-. Tightening torque: 6 Nm (4.5 ftlb.)







3. Connect wires using repair kit for wiring harnesses NR.155-1.
3.1. Cut wires for subsequent schrink connections to various lengths.
3.2. Slide shrink-fit hose onto the wires.
3.3. Strip 10 mm of insulation off the wires.
3.4. Join wires using crimp connectors. Make sure not to confuse the wire colours.
3.5. Shrink shrink-fit hoses with a hot-air gun so that wires are watertight.
3.6. Wrap commercially available PVC adhesive tape all around the area of the connection points.

Subsequent work

Install spoiler drive. Refer to Removing and installing spoiler drive
