General warning notes for rear apron, Refer to safety instructions

Preliminary work

1. Remove rear light on right and left. Refer to Removing and installing rear light
2. Remove the rear spoiler. Refer to Removing and installing rear spoiler
3. Push rear spoiler in and down.

1. Unscrew fastening screws -1- at the sides of the rear spoiler -2-.







2. Remove retainer plate -3-.
3. Unscrew fastening screws -1- at the top of the rear spoiler -2-.







4. Carefully pull rear apron -2- to the rear until the plug connection is accessible.
5. Press lug -arrow- of the plug connection -4- and separate.







6. Remove rear spoiler.

Safety instructions for the heat shield

CAUTION: Assembly of deformed heat shields.
- Damage will be caused through heat build up if deformed heat shields are installed.
- Check heat shields for deformation, fixing of the aluminium braided cord, tears and missing or damaged fixing tabs.
- Damaged or distorted heat shields must be straightened or replaced.


Installing rear spoiler







1. Check the heat shields on the vehicle before fitting the rear spoiler and replace the heat protection shield if necessary. Check that the heat shields are properly fitted and correct if necessary. Refer to Removing and installing rear bumper
2. Plug in electrical plug connection -4-.







3. Position rear spoiler -2- on the vehicle







4. Screw in fastening screws -1- above and below on the rear apron -2- and tighten to tightening torque. Tightening torque: 2 ftlb.
5. Engage retainer plate -3- in square opening.







6. Screw in fastening screws -1- laterally on the rear apron -2- and tighten to the specified torque. Tightening torque: 2 ftlb.

Gap dimension of tailpipe

1. Check gap dimensions of tailpipes -1- to rear apron -2-, if necessary, adjust tailpipes -1-.







Projection from rear spoiler: -Y = 26.2 ± 2 mm-.

Distance from rear spoiler: -Z = 27 mm-.

Centre distance at the sides evenly to the left and right.

Subsequent work

1. After rear apron assembly, check heat protection shields for correct assembly, if necessary, correct. Refer to Removing and installing rear bumper
2. Check rear gap dimensions, adjust if necessary. Refer to diagram of body gap dimensions
3. Install rear apron. Refer to Removing and installing rear spoiler
4. Install rear light on right and left. Refer to Removing and installing rear light
