DIAGNOSIS/TROUBLESHOOTING BOSE (8004 BOSE EXTERNAL AMPLIFIER)

1	Reading out external amplifier fault memory	Connect the Porsche System Tester II 9588 to the diagnostic socket; switch on the ignition and the Porsche System Tester II 9588 Select vehicle type 911 Turbo (996) and start the automatic control module search Select PCM2 in the "Control units" menu. Select External amplifier in the PCM2 menu. Select Fault memory in the menu and click the ">>" key. Read out fault memory Erase fault memory Remove ignition key and switch on ignition again Read out fault memory again Extract ambient data, press the ">>" key	-> End	Fault code is still displayed Step 2
2	Checking wiring harness and front right loudspeaker	Switch off ignition Pull off plug A on the amplifier Measure resistance on plug A, pins 29 and 24.	= 4 Step 3	Open circuit in wiring/short circuit to ground. Repair wiring harness. Step 4
3	Checking wiring harness and rear left and right loudspeakers	Switch off ignition. Pull plug A off the amplifier Check resistance on plug A pin 23 and pin 28.	< 0.5 Step 4	Step 6
4	Checking wiring harness of front right loudspeaker	Pull plug off loudspeaker. Check resistance of plug A of amplifier pin 26 to plug on front right door speaker pin 2.	< 0.5 Step 5	Repair wiring harness. -> End
5	Checking wiring harness of front right loudspeaker	Pull plug off loudspeaker. Check resistance of plug A of amplifier pin 31 to plug on front right door speaker pin 1.	< 0.5 Step 8	Repair wiring harness. -> End
6	Checking wiring of rear right and left loudspeaker	Check resistance of plug A of amplifier pin 23 to plug on rear right and left loudspeaker pin 3.	< 0.5 Step 7	Open circuit in wiring/short circuit to ground. Repair wiring harness. -> End
7	Checking wiring of rear right and left loudspeakers	Check resistance in wiring of plug A of amplifier pin 28 to plug on rear left and right loudspeakers pin 4.	< 0.5 Step 9	Open circuit in wiring/short circuit to ground. Repair wiring harness. -> End
8	Replacing front right loudspeaker		-> End	Step 10
9	Replacing rear left and right loudspeakers		-> End	Step 10
10	Replacing amplifier		-> End
