Fault code 7: Diagnosis/troubleshooting

DIAGNOSIS/TROUBLESHOOTING (FAULT CODE 7)

1 Check central locking switch
  • Switch off ignition
  • Pull plug A off the control module
  • Pull plug off central locking switch
  • Switch on ignition
  • Measure voltage between plug A on alarm system control module pin 29 and ground

Step 2
Repair wiring harness

2 Check central locking switch
  • Measure resistance between pins 1 and 2 of plug for central locking switch
approx. 180 at 20 °C
Step 3
Replace resistor or repair wiring harness

3 Check operating points of central locking switch
  • Measure resistance between pins 3 and A1 on central locking switch
  • Measure resistance between pins 4 and 2 on central locking switch
Central locking switch not actuated in "open" direction
Central locking switch actuated in "open" direction

  • Measure resistance between pins 4 and 1 on central locking switch
Central locking switch not actuated in "close" direction
