Possible cause of fault
- Short circuit between the two CAN comfort leads (CAN-high and CAN-low)
- Short circuit between CAN comfort (high) (drive) and ground
- Short circuit between CAN comfort (low) (drive) and voltage
- A faulty control module connected to CAN drive
NOTE:
- The CAN drive is connected to the following control units:
- DME
- Tiptronic
- PSM and steering angle sensor
- Instrument cluster
NOTE:
The plug connections of control units connected to the CAN drive are disconnected for trouble shooting. This causes the additional CAN-relevant fault codes, for example, 9110 DME control module to be stored in the fault memory of the instrument cluster. These fault codes should be initially ignored and should be deleted on completion of the troubleshooting.
