Removing And Installing Closure Cap For Selector Force Mechanism: Removal

  1. Remove transmission, see REMOVING AND INSTALLING TRANSMISSION, BOXSTER S  .
  2. Make sure that transmission is in neutral.
  3. Unscrew fastening screw for gear housing A. See Fig 1 .

  4. Remove snap ring B using pliers. See Fig 2 .

  5. Drill a 3.5-mm hole in the center of the closure cap (coat the drill bit with viscous grease so that the drilling chips do not fall into the hole).
  6. Screw in a 4.8 x 25 sheetmetal screw with a large washer.
  7. Lever out the closure cap with two screwdrivers.
