Remedying Problems With The Amplifier

REMEDYING PROBLEMS WITH THE AMPLIFIER

1 Check amplifier connections for damage and then connect a functional amplifier.
 
Interference noises still present?		 Replace amplifier
 
End		 If the interference noises only come from one loudspeaker, insert a functional loudspeaker.

End		 Lay the cable supply lines again, making sure that there is adequate clearance to other cables and electrical components; if necessary, reconnect the loudspeaker connection.
 
Also, twist the loudspeaker leads together to minimize the interference noises.

3 Are the interference noises still present?
  1. Check the audio cables between the radio and the amplifier for free points, short circuits and high resistance.
  2. Check all cable connections for bent or loose connections, corrosion or other damage.

4 Repair cable connections. Are the interference noises still present?
  1. Localize the ground connection for the amplifier.
  2. Disconnect the ground lead on the amplifier side.
  3. Re-connect the ground connection at an appropriate point.
  4. Measure the functionality of the ground connection with a ohmmeter between the negative terminal of the battery and the relevant ground point (potential difference).

  1. Localize the battery connection (+) of the amplifier.
  2. Disconnect the lead on the amplifier side.
  3. Insert an interference filter.
  4. The negative terminal of the interference filter should be installed facing towards the amplifier.
