PCM Navigation Unit

PCM navigation unit reverts to code input function, when battery is disconnected, and is no longer ready for operation. When power supply is disconnected, the built-in GPS receiver loses its "almanac" containing satellite orbital paths. Date and time are also deleted, when battery is disconnected. Radio station presets are no longer displayed. If telephone card was inserted, and telephone was ready for operation, telephone is disabled.

After connecting battery, input PCM code. If code card is unavailable, PCM code can be read from DME control module, using Porsche System Tester, under "Vehicle Data". Code is also available using Porsche IPAS.

Switch on PCM navigation unit, with a free panoramic view, for approximately 20 minutes. This will load GPS almanac. Date and time are also adopted, once GPS almanac had been loaded. Depending on time of year, it may be necessary to change to manually change time. Time is transferred to instrument cluster. If time is manually changed through instrument cluster, this time is adopted by PCM, and synchronized with GPS time.

Radio station presets are restored, when station buttons 1 to 6 are pressed. Telephone is enabled, when telephone PIN code is entered, using SIM telephone card.
