CAUTION: Leak (entry of water) in rear glass window!

The metal clips are designed to be fitted only once.
Always replace the metal clips after removal -7- . See Fig 1 .
Only fit the metal clips with the circlip pliers -Porsche special tool No. 9697-

REAR WINDOW GLASS OF CABRIOLET COMPONENTS INSTALLING PROCEDURE (AS OF MY 2002)

No.	Procedure	Instructions
1	Positioning rear window and aluminium frame on the convertible-top covering	NOTE: Two persons are required for the work step. Position rear window -5- and aluminium frame -5a- on convertible-top covering -8- . See Fig 1 . The aluminium frame and the rear window are initially held on the convertible-top covering with vice-grip wrenches on the left and right. See Tools and materials . Ensure that the markings -C, D- correspond at the top and bottom. See Fig 1 . Check whether the edge frame -5c- of the convertible-top covering is showing evenly all the way round and correct if necessary. See Fig 1 .
2	Pushing the metal clips onto the aluminium frame	Push new metal clips -7-F- . See Fig 1 .
3	Installing rear roof lining	Push in the connection seal -10-9-E- . See Fig 1 .
4	Installing metal clips	Knock the metal clips -7-7- . See Fig 1 .
	Only when replacing convertible-top covering.	Refer to REPLACING CONVERTIBLE-TOP COVERING WITH FLEXIBLE REAR WINDOW and REPLACING CONVERTIBLE-TOP COVERING WITH GLASS REAR WINDOW .
	Installing convertible-top covering
5	Attaching connection and tension strap	Attach the tension strap -4-X-Y- . See Fig 1 .
6	Connecting electrical plug connection	Plug in electrical plug connection -1, 2, 3- . See Fig 1 .
	Installing roof lining.	Refer to REMOVING AND INSTALLING CABRIOLET ROOF TRIMS - AS OF MODEL YEAR 2002 .
