ROOF MODULE COMPONENTS REMOVING PROCEDURE - TARGA

No. Procedure Instructions
  Removing rear wall lining and rear wall upper part Refer to REMOVING AND INSTALLING REAR WALL LINING - TARGA .
  Removing side-panel lining Refer to REMOVING AND INSTALLING SIDE-PANEL LINING - TARGA .
  Removing and installing trim of A-, B- and C-pillars Refer to REMOVING AND INSTALLING A, B AND C-PILLARS - TARGA .
  Removing adjustment fitting (seat belt height adjuster) See REMOVING AND INSTALLING ADJUSTMENT FITTING (SEAT BELT HEIGHT ADJUSTER) .
  Removing roof member trim Refer to REMOVING AND INSTALLING MEMBER TRIM -- TARGA, - AS OF MY 2002 .
  Removing three-point belt, rear Refer to REMOVING AND INSTALLING REAR THREE-POINT BELT .
  Removing passenger compartment monitoring Refer to REMOVING AND INSTALLING PASSENGER COMPARTMENT MONITORING SENSOR .
  Removing roof lining, front Refer to REMOVING AND INSTALLING ROOF LINING, FRONT - TARGA .
  Removing rear window cover See REMOVING AND INSTALLING REAR WINDOW COVER - TARGA .
1 Removing front water drainage Pull off the front water drainage on the left and right -2-  . See Fig 1.
2 Removing rear water drainage and drive guide Pull off the rear water drainage on the left and right -3, 4-6-5-  . See Fig 1.
3 Disconnecting the electrical plug connection Turn the plug connection holder -arrow A-direction of arrow B-7-  . See Fig 1.
4 Unscrewing the fastening screws at front and side Unscrew the fastening screws -8-1-  . See Fig 1.
5 Unscrewing the rear fastening screws Unscrew the rear collar nuts -9-  . See Fig 1.
Caution! Material damage to components in the vehicle interior! Four persons are required to guide the roof module out of the vehicle!
Note! In order to guide the roof module out, both the seat backrests must be positioned flat towards the rear.
6 Guiding out the roof module 1. Press the roof module -1-  inwards in the direction of arrow -B-  . If necessary, press the roof module -1-  free all the way round with a plastic spatula. See Fig 1.
2. Guide the roof module out of the rear fastening screws -inset 5-  and guide forwards to the windscreen -direction of arrow A-  . While guiding out over the belt bracket, do not damage metal bracket -X-  . See Fig 1.
3. Tilt the roof module at the front diagonally to the right -direction of arrow B-  and guide it out of the vehicle in -direction of arrow C-  . See Fig 1.
