Total mileage: Notes

NOTE: This information applies to instrument cluster system K22, K23, K27, K30.

It is possible to code the total mileage under this menu item after replacing the instrument cluster.

  1. Connect the Porsche System Tester II 9588 and switch on the ignition
  2. Select vehicle type 911 (996) and instrument cluster control module and press the key "FORWORD"
  3. Select the menu item "Total mileage" and press the key "FORWORD".
  4. You are requested to enter the "Vehicle Ident. No."
  5. Enter Vehicle Ident. No. or accept with the key "FORWORD", check the entry and press key "F7".
  6. Observe the instructions of the Porsche System Tester II 9588, enter the total mileage with the tabulator keys, check and then press the "F8" key to code the entered total mileage.

The total mileage can also be read out from the old instrument cluster under the menu item "Control module replacement" and can be transferred into the new instrument cluster if the old instrument cluster is still functional and if it is possible to establish communication with the Porsche System Tester II 9588.
