Check wiring harness and front right loudspeaker |
- Connect and start the Porsche System Tester II 9588 and switch on the ignition.
- Select 911 (996) in the Vehicle type menu and confirm with the "FORWORD" key.
- Select PCM in the Control units menu and confirm with the "FORWORD" key.
- Select External BOSE amplifier in the 911 (996) PCM2 function selection and confirm with the "FORWORD" key.
- Select Fault memory in the 911 (996) external BOSE amplifier function selection and confirm with the "FORWORD" key.
- Read out fault memory.
- Erase fault memory.
- Remove ignition key and switch on ignition again.
- Read out fault memory.
- Extract ambient data, press the "FORWORD" key.

Check wiring harness and front right loudspeaker |
- Switch off ignition.
- Pull off plug A on the amplifier.
- Check resistance on plug A, pins 24 and 29.

Check wiring harness to front right loudspeaker |
- Pull off the plugs on the loudspeakers.
- Check the resistance in the wire between pin 24 on plug A of the amplifier and pin 1 of the plug for the front right door speaker.

Open circuit in the wire/short circuit to ground. Repair wiring harness -> End |

- Check the resistance in the wire between pin 29 on plug A of the amplifier and pin 2 of the plug for the front right door speaker.
