Removing display and operator control unit (PCM 2)
NOTE:
- When the PCM is replaced by a new or different PCM, read out the data using the Porsche System Tester before removing it. See TEACHING THE DISPLAY AND OPERATOR CONTROL UNIT (PCM 2) .
- The PCM has an optical waveguide. For information on optical waveguides: Refer to OPTICAL FIBER (LWL) - MOST BUS .
- Switch ignition off and remove ignition key.
- Unclip the switch cover from below with a plastic spatula and unplug the electrical plug connections at the switches.
- Insert an Allen wrench sideways into the bolts of the locking hooks of the PCM.
- Using the Allen wrench, close the locking elements (2 x per side) -A- and carefully pull out the PCM.
- For refitting, open the locking elements with the Allen wrench -B-
.

NOTE:- Depending on the | No. (CD changer, Bose, amplifier) the number of plug connections varies.
- The version without additional audio components (external Most control units) has a jumper (output goes to input) plugged in for optical waveguide connectors.
- Release and remove antenna plug -A, E, F- . See Fig 3 .
- Release and unplug the electrical the plug connections in the order -C, B, D- . See Fig 3 .
