Removing display and operator control unit (PCM 2)

NOTE:

When the PCM is replaced by a new or different PCM, read out the data using the Porsche System Tester before removing it. See TEACHING THE DISPLAY AND OPERATOR CONTROL UNIT (PCM 2) .
The PCM has an optical waveguide. For information on optical waveguides: Refer to OPTICAL FIBER (LWL) - MOST BUS .
Switch ignition off and remove ignition key.

Unclip the switch cover from below with a plastic spatula and unplug the electrical plug connections at the switches.

Insert an Allen wrench sideways into the bolts of the locking hooks of the PCM.
Using the Allen wrench, close the locking elements (2 x per side) -A- and carefully pull out the PCM.
For refitting, open the locking elements with the Allen wrench -B- .

NOTE:
- Depending on the | No. (CD changer, Bose, amplifier) the number of plug connections varies.
- The version without additional audio components (external Most control units) has a jumper (output goes to input) plugged in for optical waveguide connectors.
Release and remove antenna plug -A, E, F- . See Fig 3 .
Release and unplug the electrical the plug connections in the order -C, B, D- . See Fig 3 .
