Fault code 8: Diagnosis/troubleshooting

DIAGNOSIS/TROUBLESHOOTING (FAULT CODE 8)

1 Check central locking switch.
  • Switch off the ignition.
  • Pull plug A off the control module.
  • Pull plug off central locking switch.
  • Switch on ignition.
  • Measure voltage between plug A on alarm system control module pin 29 and ground.

Step 2		 Repair wiring harness.

2 Check central locking switch.
  • Measure resistance between pins 1 and 2 of plug for central locking switch.
 Approx. 180 at 20 °C.
Step 3		 Replace resistor or repair wiring harness.
-> End
3 Check operating points of central locking switch.
  • Measure resistance between pins 2 and 4 on central locking switch.
 Central locking switch not actuated to Open.
Central locking switch actuated to Open.

4 Check operating points of central locking switch.
  • Measure resistance between pins 1 and 4 on central locking switch.
 Central locking switch not actuated to Closed.
Central locking switch actuated to Closed.
