Fault code 49: Diagnosis/troubleshooting

DIAGNOSIS/TROUBLESHOOTING (FAULT CODE 49)

Work instruction Display OK If not OK
1 Check wire from data link connector to alarm system control module for short circuit to ground.
  • Pull plug A off the alarm system control module.
  • Measure resistance between plug A on alarm system control module pin 2 and ground.
 Step 2 Repair wiring harness.

2 Check wire from data link connector to alarm system control module for short circuit to B+.
  • Switch on ignition.
  • Measure voltage between plug A on control module pin 2 and ground.

Step 3		 Repair wiring harness.

3 Check wire from data link connector to alarm system control module for open circuit.
  • Switch off the ignition.
  • Measure resistance between plug A on control module pin 2 and pin 7 on the data link connector.

Step 4		 Repair wiring harness.

  • Replace control unit.
