8014 External BOSE amplifier: Diagnosis/troubleshooting

DIAGNOSIS/TROUBLESHOOTING - 8014 EXTERNAL BOSE AMPLIFIER

Work instruction Display OK If not OK
1 Check the rear left and right wiring harness and loudspeakers
  • Connect the Porsche System Tester II 9588 to the diagnostic socket; switch on the ignition and the Porsche System Tester II 9588
  • Select 986 as the vehicle type and start the automatic control module search
  • In the Control units menu, select PCM2
  • In the PCM2 menu, select External amplifier
  • Make a selection in the Fault memory menu and start with the ">>" key
  • Read out fault memory
  • Erase fault memory
  • Remove ignition key and switch on ignition again
  • Read out fault memory
  • Extract ambient data, press the ">>" key
-> End Fault code is still displayed

2 Check the rear left and right wiring harness and loudspeakers
  • Switch off ignition
  • Pull off plug A on the amplifier
  • Check resistance on plug A, pins 23 and 28

3 Check the wiring harness to the rear left and right loudspeakers
  • Pull off the plugs on the loudspeakers
  • Check the resistance in the wire between pin 23 on plug A of the amplifier and pin 3 of the plug for the rear left and right loudspeaker

Open circuit in the wire/short circuit to ground; Repair wiring harness

4 Check the wiring harness to the rear left and right loudspeakers
  • Check the resistance in the wire between pin 28 on plug A of the amplifier and pin 4 of the plug for the rear left and right loudspeakers

Step 5
Open circuit in the wire/short circuit to ground; Repair wiring harness
-> End
5 Replace the rear left and right loudspeakers -> End Step 6
6 Replace amplifier -> End
