8008 External Harman amplifier: Diagnosis/troubleshooting

DIAGNOSIS/TROUBLESHOOTING - 8008 EXTERNAL HARMAN AMPLIFIER

1	Read out external amplifier fault memory	Connect the Porsche System Tester II 9588 to the diagnostic socket; switch on the ignition and the Porsche System Tester II 9588 Select vehicle type, Boxster, and start the automatic control module search In the Control units menu, select PCM2 In the PCM2 menu, select External amplifier Make a selection in the Fault memory menu and start with the ">>" key Read out fault memory Erase fault memory Remove ignition key and switch on ignition again Read out fault memory Extract ambient data, press the ">>" key	-> End	Fault code is still displayed Step 2
2	Check wiring harness and right door loudspeaker	Switch off ignition Pull off plug A on the amplifier Check resistance on plug A, pins 8 and 17	= 4 Step 7	Step 3
3	Check wiring harness to right door loudspeaker	Pull off the plug on the right door speakers Check the resistance in the wire between pin 8 on plug A of the amplifier and pin 2 of the plug for the front right door loudspeaker	< 0.5 Step 4	Repair open circuit in wiring harness -> End
4	Check wiring harness to right door loudspeaker	Pull off the plug on the right door loudspeaker Check the resistance in the wire between pin 17 on plug A of the amplifier and pin 1 of the plug for the right door loudspeaker	< 0.5 Step 5	Repair open circuit in wiring harness -> End
5	Check wiring harness to right door loudspeaker	Pull off the plug on the door loudspeaker Check the resistance in the wire from pin 8 on plug A of the amplifier to pin 17	Step 6	Repair short circuit in wiring harness -> End
6	Check wiring harness to right door loudspeaker	Check the resistance in the wire from pin 8 on plug A of the amplifier to pin 14	Step 9	Repair short circuit to ground in wiring harness -> End
7	Check wiring harness to right door loudspeaker	Check the resistance in the wire from pin 8 on plug A of the amplifier to ground	Step 8	Repair short circuit to ground in the wiring harness -> End
8	Check wiring harness to right door loudspeaker	Check the voltage of the wire from pin 8 on plug A of the amplifier to ground Switch ignition on	< 0 V Step 8	Repair short circuit to B+ in the wiring harness -> End
9	Check wiring harness to right door loudspeaker	Check the voltage of the wire from pin 17 on plug A of the amplifier to ground Switch ignition on	0 V Step 10 Repair short circuit to B+ in the wiring harness	-> End
10	Replace front right door loudspeaker		-> End	Step 10
11	Replace amplifier		-> End	-
