8005 CDR23: Diagnosis/troubleshooting

DIAGNOSIS/TROUBLESHOOTING - 8005 CDR23

Work instruction Display OK If not OK
1 Read out CDR23 fault memory
  • Connect and start the Porsche System Tester II 9588 and switch on the ignition
  • Select vehicle type Boxster (986) and control unit CDR23 and press the ">>" key
  • Read out and erase CDR23 fault memory.
  • Switch off ignition, remove ignition key, switch on ignition again and read out fault memory
The fault is remedied

Step 2
2 Check CAN comfort (high) for open circuit
  • Switch off ignition
  • Pull off plug E on CDR23
  • Pull off plug A on the instrument cluster control module
  • Pull off plug B on the air-conditioning system control module
  • Measure specific resistance between pin 1 of plug E on the CDR23 control module and pin 14 of plug A on the instrument cluster control module

Step 3
Repair open circuit in wiring harness

3 Check CAN comfort (low) for open circuit
  • Measure specific resistance between pin 2 of plug E on the CDR23 control module and pin 15 of plug A on the instrument cluster control module

Step 4
Repair open circuit in wiring harness
-> End

  • Replace CDR23
