322 Position of Camshaft in Relation to Crankshaft, Bank 1 - Above Limit: Function

When the engine is started and the reference mark has been recognized, the control module adapts the camshaft signal with respect to the reference mark, i.e. the software compensates for deviations from a fixed value by angle shifts. If these adaptation values reach their limits, the fault 'timing chain out of position' is recognized.
