Ignition Switch

Ignition switch is mounted on dashboard to left of steering column. Ignition switch has 3 positions, OFF, ON and START. On models equipped with Tiptronic, ignition key can be removed only if selector lever is in "P" position. With ignition switch in OFF position and key removed, steering wheel should lock. In ON position, all electrical equipment can be turned on and warning lights should illuminate for lamp check. In START position, starter is operated (clutch must be depressed fully with manual transmissions). If engine fails to start and key is moved to ON position, key must be returned to OFF position before ignition switch is able to operate starter again.
