Intake Camshaft Drive Chain
- Place both camshafts in timing chain with cast bosses aligned with light colored chain links. Lubricate bearing surfaces with oil and place camshaft in bearings carefully. See Fig 1.
- Mount camshafts on cylinder head with Camshaft Holder (9226). Mount bearing bridges and bearing caps on camshafts. Bearing bridges and caps are machined together with cylinder head and must always be installed in correct position.
- Coat sealing surfaces of front and rear double bearing bridges with Loctite 574 for installation. Recheck camshaft position with gauge from Camshaft Holder (9226).
- Use Camshaft Seal Installers (9233 and 9234) to drive seal on to drive end of camshaft. Lubricate sealing lip with oil before installing seal.
